BooksFirst! is a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes high quality books to under-resourced classrooms, enabling students to become lifelong readers by developing, enhancing and enriching their literacy skills.
To achieve these ends, BooksFirst! works with community groups, schools, individuals, businesses, and other organizations to collect gently used and new children’s books. We combine these donations, sort the books based on reading level, and donate them in large quantities to classrooms in some of America’s most under-resourced areas.
We are committed to collecting high quality reading materials—books that young people will be excited about reading. And, we are committed to donating those materials in sufficient quantity to make a real difference—every classroom we donate to receives 200 books or more.
